On Saturday July 5 there was a BBQ Party at Sardis Road to celebrate 10 years of Mini & Junior Rugby at Pontypridd.
A great time was had by all, with sizzling hotdogs, burgers and kebab's to keep everyone going, as well as great company with many old and new faces of those who have been involved with the junior section over the last decade...
To 'cap' it all, there was a "Capping Ceremony" with Pontypridd RFC caps being awarded to those young players who have played 250 games for the Club.

The funeral of Gareth Jones took place on Monday 23rd June at GlynTaff Cemetery, Pontypridd. The service was decked in white and black as players, supporters and officials of Pontypridd RFC and Neath RFC lined the way for a fitting tribute to a true local hero. Gareth or Snid as he was affectionately known, was a great player and wonderful person who will be sorely missed by all who had met him... Former Pontypridd favourite Gareth 'Snid' Jones 28, has died in hospital after suffering an injury to his neck during a match for Neath on 20 April. The Pontypridd-born decorator leaves a wife and two children. "It is with deep regret that Neath Rugby have to announce that scrum-half Gareth Jones passed away peacefully this afternoon," said a Neath RFC club statement. He won a league title with the Welsh All Blacks and was also a Konica Minolta Cup winner with Pontypridd. Jones had been in intensive care at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff since the incident, where he underwent surgery for his injuries and medical complications. A statement on the Neath website said: "Jones's family have requested their privacy is respected at this very sad and difficult time for them all." The Welsh Rugby Union cleared Cardiff centre Darren Ryan of reckless play after he was cited over the incident in which Jones was injured. The thoughts of everyone involved at Pontypridd RFC go out to his his family, particulary his wife and two young children; we ask that everyone respects their privacy at this sad time.
