Page 1 of 2 On a miserable day comes a miserable result, and not the start to the 2006/07 Principality Premiership that Pontypridd would have wanted. The boys came out guns blazing in a frenetic first quarter, but then slowed down and allowed a rampant Llandovery side to come back from 13-3 to be leading by a try at half time.
It then went from bad to worse as Ponty didn't get a break and Drovers managed to push their forwards around the park. Ponty had no defence to the rolling maul of death Ponty had no defence to the rolling maul of death, and it stayed that way throughout the second half.
So where the Hell was the Cup winning team then? They certainly weren't there at Sardis Road, that's for sure. Despite fears that the Blues would come knocking, Pontypridd fielded a strong team on paper. In practice, it seems that they have forgotten to play like a team and suffered from a severe like of fire.
If Ponty play like this next week against Neath, there will need to be some very hard questions asked.
