Page 2 of 2 Pontypridd are back to winning ways the third game in of the new season. The debacle of Neath last week, coupled with the shoddy performance against Llandovery during the first match has cast a shodow over the Sardis Road Warriors. That all blew away as Pontypridd came back from being 3-7 down in the first half to gain a decisive 12-33 away to Aberavon.
Jason Pocock was the only points scorer before the second half, and
both teams play was scrappy. But Ponty came out of the goal posts by
adding 4 tries from scrum-half Gareth John, Chris Clayton, Gavin Dacey
and Ryan Harries. A late consolation try from the Wizards could not
detract from the fact that Pontypridd have found their fighting spirit
again.
Odd results from today put the cat amongst the pigeons with Neath
drawing to Ebbw Vale, and the Wanderers proving that this season, they
aren't going to sit near the bottom. Ponty are going to find things
tough, but they have to get back to the top first.
Tries: G John, C Clayton, G Dacey, R Harries
Pens:J Pocock 3, Cons: J Pocock 2
