Page 3 of 3 FROM www.ponty.net The club has lost two of its most stalwart members over the past two weeks, and we want to pay brief tribute to both of them here. The latest loss is that of Haydn Jones, who died last Friday, and the week before we lost Bill Ellsmore. Both will be sadly missed by all at Pontypridd R.F.C.All involved with PRFC and Teamponty.net send our utmost condolances and respect to the families of two outstanding gentlemen who were more than just stalwarts of the club.
Haydn never missed an away trip in the heady days of Pontypridd's European adventure, and despite his advancing years was always first at the bar. He enjoyed his rugby, enjoyed the occasional glass of the hard stuff, and his company was enjoyed by all around him. It is rumoured that he started the fight in the bar at Brive so that he could get served quicker. His funeral is on Friday 6th July at Glyntaff, at 2.15 pm, and everyone is invited back to the clubhouse afterwards. Our condolences go out to all his family. Bill had been a wonderful servant of the club, and without his work on the ground committee many of our buildings would have collapsed by now. He ran his own roofing and tiling company, and his work is to be seen wherever you move in the clubhouse and grandstand lounge. Without people like Bill the club simply would not survive. He was buried at Glyntaff week last Monday, and we apologise to all that we did not get the message out on time. Again, our condolences go out to all his family.
