"Insane" Wayne Is A Dragon

Wayne Evans now a Dragon player. In what can only be described as evidence for Blues manager Dai Young's extreme stupidity, former Pontypridd scrum half Wayne Evans will be lining up in Dragons colours this season. The class act of Pontypridd's previous couple of seasons has obviously been made a better offer by the Newport region, and TeamPonty says Good Luck Butty.

Wayne has gone from strength to strength, and was a pivitol player in the 2005-06 season for Pontypridd. Injuries aside, his form has been fantastic, and recent outings for the Welsh Seven's squad in Twickenham and Murrayfield helped the national team to semi final positions in both tournaments. Anyone watching Evans in action on both days saw a true rugby talent.

Unfortunately, Mike Phillips had been strongly above Wayne in the Blues pecking order, with Evans turning out as a bit part player for last year's professional season. As a result, and despite not being a member of Ponty's full time squad, he put on the Sardis armour for around half a dozen matches.

Another fine expression from Cardiff's Head Coach. Well done for losing Wayne Evans you numbnut. Dai Young mentioned "young" Wayne by name following Mike Phillips departure from Cardiff, but obviously was looking for a bigger name. And what a fool he will be when Wayne shoves the ball down the throat of the Arms Park this coming season; the Dragons look a force to reckoned with, and might well cause upset this year.

With so many former Pontypridd players lining up for the Dragons, it could almost be construed as a surrogate region for Sardis followers who still feel little support from the mother ship south of the M4. Despite the olive branch on August 8, 2007, there will be no love lost between Pontypridd fans and the Cardiff visitors. No doubt the selection for the "friendly" will mean that Academy players will either sit this one out, or play in blue leaving a diminished Ponty "test" squad to take a pounding in the name of regionally love. TeamPonty isn't fooled.
