Page 2 of 2 The Board of Directors of Ponty Rugby Ltd have been informed that the application made by Morbaine Ltd to develop a food retail store on the site of Pontypridd RFC's Sardis Road ground, has been turned down by the Welsh Assembly.
Following long drawn out discussions, which eventually went through an appeal procedure before the Welsh Assembly Government, both the Morbaine proposals for Sardis Road, and the Morrisons proposals for the old Brown Lennox site, have been turned down. The approved proposal is for the original Angharad Walk development centred around the Taff Vale Precinct and Ynysangharad Park. The Board of Directors of Ponty Rugby Ltd will remain engaged in discussions with all parties concerned, as to any future proposals for the Sardis Road site, and for a suitable location of a stadium for Pontypridd RFC.
