Page 1 of 2 Outstanding flanker Sam Studley will tonight (18 April 2007) add to his growing list of honours this season by becoming the first Ponty youth player from the newly formed youth squad to represent the Crawshays.
Sam has already won Welsh and Great Britain honours at Rugby League this season whilst also being a regular in the Cardiff Blues regional squad, where he won man of the match for his dynamic performance at Flanker in the under 18's game against the Ospreys. Sam has also recently joined the senior training squad, where he will link up with Paul John for specialist scrum half training in the summer, as the Blues believe he may have a future either as a Scrum half or flanker, and Johnsy has agreed to work with Sam to ensure he is equally adept at both positions. The coaches, players, management and committee of the Youth section are all very proud of Sam and wish him good luck at Newbridge tonight.
