Page 1 of 2 Sunday 2nd April saw Pontypridd Under 16's play Wales Under 16's at Hawthorn, despite a scoreline of 38 - 3 to Wales it wasn't all one way.
Ponty were clearly nervous of facing an international team, hence they struggled in the first half more through their nerves than anything else, conceding several scores that they are usually capable of preventing. But Wales only scored one try in the second half and throughout the game Ponty had ascendancy up front, but as you would expect, the Welsh backs were just too big, too fast and too good on the day... However several of our lads put their hands up for future Academy or even international selection and it was a good exercise for all concerned... Full report to follow...
