Page 1 of 2 [AD]Under 12’s Pontypridd RFC 59-0 Ynysybwl11th September, 2005Excellent start to the season for this young Pontypridd team an emphatic victory in their very first game winning nine tries to nil.
With several new players in the squad there were some concerns over how the team would perform and if they would lose cohesion. The passing throughout the game was very slick and the forwards kept the momentum going throughout, supported by a set of quick and dynamic backs.
It was a huge performance particularly from the new forwards and the victory was well deserved given that Ynysybwl kept going right up to the final whistle and could have scored a couple of tries themselves, but were frustrated by an aggressive Ponty defence.
Try scorers with one try apiece were Liam Williams, Joel Raikes, Rhodri Garland, Oliver Bailey, Michael Connor and Chris Jones. Whilst centre Dale Hughes scored a hatrick and outside half Joel Raikes also kicked 7 excellent conversions. Well done the lads…
