Page 1 of 2  In a dire and scrappy game, Ponty conceded 24-0 away to Ystrad
Despite ruling territory and applying pressure throughout the game, Pontypridd failed to score a point. This was probably their worst performance for three years, with forwards not supporting each other or getting the ball to the backs and the backs squandering what little ball they did receive. Ystrad played very simple rugby, keeping possession up front and spreading it quickly when the opportunities arose. Ystrad forwards managed to turn over Pontypridd ball throughout the game and catch the Pontypridd backs napping and bunching with quick ball to the wings. Several individuals played well for Pontypridd, but as a team they were suprisingly dire given the performances they are capable of. A well deserved victory and clean sheet by a well organised Ystard team.
Hopefully the boys can up their performance and turn things around next week at Bridgend Athletic...
