Under 8's Pontypridd 10 - 15 Rhiwbina

 

In tropical conditions the boys started the season with a friendly at the "Arms Park", the game kicked off at a blistering pace with Rhiwbina scoring two early tries before Ponty could get into their stride. Despite a determined effort that saw Ponty start to gain ground in the game, a break away try was scored by Rhiwbina to give them a deserving three try 15 point lead at half time.

 

The second half began with some lovely passing from the boys in Black & White that ended with a try for Dafydd (Smiler) Lloyd. Ponty upped the tempo and had all the play in the second half and eventually Ellis Baynham sped down the touchline to score a wonderful try second try for his side. Some excellent defending by Rhiwbina in the dying moments denyed Ponty a deserving draw, with the match ending 3 tries to 2 to Rhiwbina.
