The game started with a Treorchy kick off, Mason Pritchard caught the ball to clear up-field and the Ponty chase was excellent, but a Fijian style tackle from Morgan Burgess yielded a penalty to the home side. Treorchy pushed forward, but a good solid defence from Ponty kept them out. A scrum on the half way line saw Liam Morton break from the back of the scrum to run through the Treorchy defence, opening the scoring for Ponty; the try was successfully converted by Mason Pritchard. From the restart Ponty attacked again, but were held out by firm tackling from Treorchy. A line out on the half way line saw some slick passing from the backs and then the forwards took over with Rhys Grainger taking on to gain good ground. The ball was recycled quickly and quickly moved along the backs for wing Morgan Burgess to crash over in the corner, the try was this time converted by Shawn Bowditch. Half Time : Pontypridd 14 Treorchy 0 As is custom there were a host of changes made by Ponty at half time to give all players a run out. The second half saw Ponty kick off and chase well. Treorchy advanced up-field, but the ball was stolen in the tackle by Mason Pritchard, Mason shipped the ball out to Lewis Allen who ran almost the length of the field to score a try that was converted by Callum Pearce. Treorchy pushed forward and from a scrum close to the Ponty line they scored a converted try in the corner. The game then became a little scrappy with a lot of ball being dropped by both sides as Treorchy continued to push for more points, but good tackling from the visitors kept them out. The last move of the game saw Ponty break into the Treorchy half and looked destined to score but a magnificent cover tackle from one of the Treorchy players knocked Callum Pearce into touch just short of the line.
