In an excellent game of rugby, Pontypridd deservedly come out on top. For most of the first half Ponty were camped in Abercynon's half, but due to excellent defence by the visitors Ponty found it very difficult to turn the possession into points. Abercynon, to their credit, were strong in the mauls and winning the ball constantly and breaking away to sprint up field.
A good rolling maul by Ponty saw Daniel Griffiths come away with the ball and dash the last 10 metres for a great try. Then Callum Pearce capitalised on some poor handling by Abercynon that saw the ball dropped behind their try line, with Callum reading the situation and was the first to pounce. Daniel Griffiths got a well deserved second try thanks to a well organised 5 metre set piece and good handling by Pontypridd that allowed Daniel to crash through the defence.

TRY scorers for Pontypridd were Ben Stephens (2), Chris John, Luke Deeley, Keiran Hughes and Killian Kingston. Conversion was kicked by Chris John. MAN of the match Jordan Powell. UNDER 13'S Though there was no match on the weekend for the Under 13's the team who had a training session with the Pontypridd Youth Coach Wayne Gristock. It proved an informative session for the players and coaches, who along with the parents would like to thank Wayne for his time, effort and input. UNDER 16’s Pontypridd 29 - 22 Pontyclun TRY scorers for Pontypridd: Dean Gunter, Sean Watton, Liam Watton and Luke Davies. Dean Gunter kicked 3 conversions and a penalty.
