Under 8’s Pontypridd 20 - 25 Ynysybwl

Looking on the positive side, the team's skill levels have improved in every
area of play. The amount of turnovers we get is increasing on a weekly
basis, the tries we score (from every corner of the park) are increasing,
the passing and cathing of the ball is getting much better. But the boys
deserved to win this one against old firm rivals Ynysybwl. The pressure and
territory we had in both halves and missed/possible chances to score should
have been enough to sway the game in our favour.

For example, Lucas Hickman broke free of the defence and was on target for
one of his characteristsic sprints to the line when he grounded the ball 10
yards early, thinking he was over the try line. Another phase of play saw
Rhys Grainger tagged inches from the line and although he grounded the ball
he was called back to where he was tagged to tap the ball. Once more, Mason

Pritchard knocked the ball on when he was over the try line. The boys has
Ynysybwl pinned down for what seemed like ages on their own try line, but
the Bwl battled on, tagging everything that moved until eventually they
broke free and ran the length of the pitch for a great individual try. "Some
days you are the fly, some days you are the windscreen" as the saying goes.

Try scorers : Gruffyd Lloyd (1), Owain Morris (1), Lucas Hickman (2).

Under 8’s Development Pontypridd 15 - 20 Ynysybwl

A well fought game, with another close scoreline. The Ponty boys had a good
run out today with regulars like Jay Jones, Iwan Cavil, Rhys Britton and
Keillan Mahoney showing that they are enjoying the game and learning a lot
from each training session and game they play. Some strong defence and great  tagging put the pressure on the Bwl, but they retaliated by having a couple of light footed sprinters who opened up some gaps awhich allowed a few tries past us. Still, they didn't let it bother them and battled on until the last whistle. Well played lads !!

Try scorers : Iwan Cavil (1), Harley Jones (1), Dafydd Smith (1).
