The win comes hot on the heels of their 21-20 victory over Scotland on Saturday, but it was not all plain sailing, with Wales trailing 9-3 after half an hour. Wales wing Leigh Halfpenny's try scored the game-turning try with six minutes left in the half, and when he converted it himself he saw his side go into the break leading 10-9. The second half was all Wales. Just two minutes into the second period Wales fullback Daniel Evans crossed for an unconverted try. Halfpenny added two penalties before late Wales tries from Ryan Bevinton and Rhys Webb put the result beyond doubt. Ireland did cross in the dying minutes for a consolation score, but it was too little, too late. Wales now play England on Friday.
