Page 1 of 2 Wales Under 21 defeat Georgia 73 - 25 to get their World Cup Campaign off the blocks on the first day of the IRB World Championship...
Next two Welsh under 21 matches:
Wales v France on Tuesday 13 June at 7pm.
Wales v Argentina on Saturday 17 June at 4pm.
Wales scored 10 tries as they kicked off their IRB Under-21 World Championship campaign by hammering Georgia in Issoire, France.
But in the searing heat of the Auvergne region, the young Dragons made heavy weather of it against the minnows.
Tries from wings Aaron Bramwell and Chris clayton, centre Tom Riley and hooker Daniel George put Wales 28-6 up.
Dafydd Hewitt, George, Will Jones, Roger Davies and Bramwell added further scores, Aled Thomas converting all 10.
Having led 28-6 after as many minutes Wales were pegged back to 28-18 by a side who gave their all in temperatures of more than 80 degrees.
In front of nearly 5,000 at the Stade du Mas, Wales made the perfect start with a try from debutant left-wing Aaron Bramwell. And before the half-hour mark, Tom Riley, Chris Clayton and Daniel George had all crossed for a comfortable lead.
Georgian outside-half Lasha Malaguradze dropped a goal and added a penalty and then, with Wales conceding too many penalties in their own half, lock Lasha Azaladze crossed for a try and centre and captain David Kacharava added a second.
A penalty from Thomas on the stroke of half-time provided Wales with a 31-18 interval lead but a third try, from Giorgi Mchedlishvili, provided another setback.
Dafydd Hewitt brought some sanity to the contest with a try 90 seconds later, but Argentine referee Daniel Jabase brought the levels down again with a ridiculous carding of No 8 Adam Powell .
Despite that numerical disadvantage Wales drove a line-out on the hour and George was awarded his second try, which Thomas again improved. Will Jones added the next, Davies an eighth, Dominic Day a ninth and Bramwell a 10th.
