Most Welsh eyes will be on Paris on Saturday, but there is international action to be found a good deal nearer to home. Germany may not be the same world powers which face the Welsh side in Paris, but they promise to provide stiff opposition for the Welsh district side at Sardis Road, Pontypridd on Saturday (2.30pm). The Germans are currently ranked 13th in Europe and 27th in the world, having beaten Belgium 32-13, Switzerland 40-10 and losing out to Spain 36-10 and narrowly going down to the French amateurs 26-24 in recent outings. And the Welsh Districts - captained by Bryncethin's Andrew Bayliss - know how tough a game they face, having gone down 36-16 in Berlin last year.
