Cardiff Blues chairman Peter Thomas has accused the Welsh Rugby Union of lacking "foresight" and "bottle" in the running of the domestic game.

Thomas told BBC Wales Sport the WRU should do more to stop the "uneven distribution" of Wales's best players.

The WRU said it was surprised by Thomas's comments, describing them as "ill-judged" and "ill-informed".

What cheek?

Isn't Cardiff as guilty as anyone in hiring foreign over the hill mercenaries that block the advancement of upcoming Welsh players?

Were they not the wealthiest club that bought all the top names? Now their playing second fiddle to the only true region and they don't like it!

Pieman is calling the kettle black, when his club are as guilty as anyone in preventing the advancement of Welsh rugby and real regionalism, whilst stiffling the ability of up and coming players.

Pete, when your team no longer calls itself Cardff and no longer wears the city clubs colours, then and only then can you complain about anything.

At present there are hundreds of thousands of rugby supporters within Cardiff's supposed regional boundary who like myself feel they remain unrepresented in regional rugby.

The valleys will never support a team called Cardiff. So expect no sympathy here or anywhere else north of the M4.
