Page 2 of 2 Desperation sets in as CRFC First team are signing Jonah Lomu until the end of the season, see what the official Ponty messageboard thinks...
The whole Lomu thing stinks of desperation. Cardiff are clearly desperate to gain a regional following... Gaining Lomu won't attract the valleys kids to CAP, even if they want to go their fathers won't take them, so it may only encourage them to see him play on TV and once he leaves so will their interest... If they want to gain the valleys supporters, especially long term supporters, then they have to make changes to appeal to us... Drop Cardiff from the title and change the shade of blue away from CRFC blue, these are the minimum changes they will have make just not to alienate the valleys, never mind attract them... Lomu is coming for his own right reasons, to play for a lesser team and build his fitness up for bigger challenges next season... Wish him all the best, but wont be watching as long as he wears blue...
Can any one else smell that strong aroma of desperation wafting up from boos land? I thought the superclubs were formed to help with the development of future welsh talent and they go and sign a New Zealander who's hardly played a game in years due to a Kidney transplant!!!!!! Or have they signed him just to get people through the turnstiles and to sell lots of their merchandise? So much for developing WELSH talent. It's Lomu I feel sorry for - He's gone from being the most destructive player ever in the game to playing for c*^*!#f !! How the mighty have fallen!!
