Following an extremely successful inaugural season since reforming last summer, Pontypridd RFC Youth have been promoted out of the 9th BI Division to the 2nd BB division. A promotion of 7 divisions in one season following their unprecedented success, having lost only one league match all season and beaten comfortably several teams in far higher leagues during friendlies throughout the year, including the previously undefeated 3rd division champions Canton. Several players from the youth squad now regularly train with the senior Pontypridd Premiership squad as the development of high quality players continues at Sardis Road.Their place in the Development Division will be taken up by last season's Pontypridd RFC Under 16's in another new development at the club with the introduction of a second youth team known as the Junior Youth who hopefully will follow in the success of last season's youth who are now the Senior Youth and live up to the club's youth nickname of the Upstarts. The Youth squad pre-season training is on Wednesday's at Taff Vale Park (Nile Steet, below Broadway) 7.15 till 9pm. There is an open invite for all Youth players aged under 19 on the 1st of September 2007 to join the squad for a trial.
