YOUTH RUGBYPONTYPRIDD 3 - 52 BEDWAS
Ponty struggled to find any continuity in this their first match of the season against a very strong Bedwas side that contained several Dragons players. With several key players missing and despite several good individual performances, Ponty looked a shadow of the team that ended last season, though take nothing away from the opposition who looked extremely sharp having played several matches already this season. Hopefully with the return of several key players in the coming days the Upstarts can rediscover the form that got them promoted seven divisions before the season and league matches begin in earnest? Ponty Fan Auctions Off Jenkins |

Saturday, 11 August 2007 |
A Pontypridd rugby fan has auctioned off Gareth Jenkins, the national Wales coach owing to his recent string of poor results. The South Wales Echo reports that Gerwain Smith had enough of stick from his English colleagues, so set the auction in order to raise money for the Noah's Ark Appeal .
Despite this, last count was £15 offered, however there doesn't appear to be any trace of the auction. Maybe Gareth has gotten touchy and asked for the auction to be removed? Regardless, it just goes to show how little the Welsh public think of the current Wales coaching setup. Comments (11) | Add as favourites (54) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 596 |
